Product Information
Volvo Fuel Pump Insert - Bosch
Often a faulty fuel pump means the car will crank, but not start. If you turn your ignition to the second position (before cranking), often you can hear the fuel pump running, thus if you cannot hear it, it is possible you need a new fuel pump or fuel pump relay.
Includes filter, does not include the rest of the assembly
FCP recommends checking:
- Fuel pressure
- Voltage at the pump
- Fuel lines and hoses
An electric fuel pump is responsible for pumping fuel from the fuel tank to the engine at the appropriate pressure and flow rate. Electric fuel pumps are typically located inside the fuel tank or mounted externally and are activated by the vehicle’s ignition system. They ensure that fuel is delivered consistently to the engine for combustion, supporting overall engine performance and efficiency.
Electric Fuel Pump Failure Symptoms- Difficulty Starting the Engine: If the fuel pump is struggling to deliver fuel, the engine may have trouble starting or may take longer than usual to crank and start
- Loss of Power: A malfunctioning fuel pump can lead to a loss of engine power, making it difficult to accelerate or maintain speed, especially when climbing hills or carrying heavy loads
