Product Information

Brake hoses carry hydraulic brake fluid from your master brake cylinder to your brakes and can become brittle with age and leak making the car unsafe to drive. Be sure to inspect your brake lines with each brake service and replace brake lines that show age or are leaking. It is also the perfect opportunity to flush you entire brake system with new brake line hydraulic fluid.

Brake Hydraulic Hose Kit

Brake hydraulic hoses are the flexible hoses that connect the hard lines that run along the body or frame of your vehicle to the brake calipers. Brake hoses are unbique in the fact they are designed and sized properly to move with the suspension as it travels up and down over bumps in the road.

Since brake hoses carry hydraulic fluid as well as transfer pressure to the brake calipers/wheel cylinders it is critical to inspect these hoses regularly for any types of fraying or external cracks. Traditional rubber hoses tend to shrink over time internally restricting the flow of pressure to the brake calipers. Because of this FCP Euro recommends replacing brake hoses in matches pairs to ensure even braking performance at each corner of the axle.

Brake Hydraulic Hose Kit Failure Symptoms
  • Cracks or frays on external layer of hose
  • Heavy corrosion on end fittings
  • Leaks of any kind
  • Loss of brake pedal pressure
  • Poor braking performance
  • Inoperable brakes

About Corteco

Corteco is one of the leading suppliers of sealing and vibration control components. Through their parent company Freudenberg Group, they are an OEM supplier for most car manufacturers around the world.

Originally founded in 1849 as a leather tannery Freudenburg started making seals in 1932 with the invention of the Simmerring®. This seal style quickly replaced felt seals as the new standard for radial shaft sealing rings for rotating shafts/assemblies. Freudenburg began engineering and manufacturing vibration control technology with shock absorbers and bushings in 1957. It was in that same year that Freudenburg partnered with an Italian seal manufacturer Corte & Cosso, creating the Corteco brand. Continuing their history of innovation, Corteco introduced Micronair cabin filters in 1989 and quickly became the market leader in cabin filtering technology.
