Product Information

Crankshaft seal repair kit for the front seal on N51, N52, N52N, N54, and N55 engines built up to 2/2011, includes required sealing compounds for properly installing and sealing the front crankshaft seal

Front crank seal failure on the N5X series of engines is common and results in an oil leak that is visible on the front of the engine. To get to the crankshaft seal you will need to remove the harmonic balancer which is bolted directly to the crankshaft hub.

Once the harmonic balancer is removed a special tool set is required to safely remove and install the front crankshaft seal. The special tool kit for this procedure can be found under CTA 7643 which we have available on the site.

It is important to follow the repair procedure to ensure proper removal and installation of the new seal.
