Product Information

Radiators are a common failure item on higher mileage vehicles. Due to their position on the vehicle they are often exposed to debris impacts from the road as well as constant heating and cooling cycles. If your BMW's radiator is leaking you will want to replace it as soon as possible. In addition, poor cooling system maintenance or improper antifreeze can cause cooling system debris to clog the radiator reducing cooling capacity. In this case the radiator will also require replacement before engine damage can occur from overheating.

Included in this kit are replacement radiator hoses which require replacement due to the quick disconnect couplings. More times than not theses hoses go unreplaced for a leak to occur at a later date. The quick disconnect couplings seal to their respective fittings via an o-ring. If this o-ring is deformed or damaged upon removal or installation a cooling system leak will always occur. Because of this it's best to replace the hoses that connect to the radiator the first time around.

To ensure proper cooling system performance and protection we also include one gallon of Genuine BMW concentrated antifreeze. This must be mixed with distilled water to either a 50/50 mix.

Radiator Kit

Your radiator is an integral, and arguably, the most important part of the cooling system. It is designed to expel heat from the coolant via the small fins. Most radiators fail when the end tanks crack causing leaks, but higher mileage radiators which have missing or bent fins often are clogged up with debris which can also cause overheating issues as the radiator cannot expel heat effectively. If your radiator is in rough shape we recommend replacing it. We also highly recommend inspecting/replacing the upper and lower radiator hose at that time.

Radiator Kit Failure Symptoms
  • Overheating
  • Coolant Leak
  • Cracking
  • Bent Fins
  • Clogged Fins cause by debris
