The wastegate actuator is what controls the boost levels generated by the turbocharger. On many modern cars, pneumatic actuators using vacuum and a control solenoid have been replaced by electronic actuators which are more efficient and precise. Electronic actuators have a mechanical and electronic control element. The most common failure of this newer style actuator is generally going to be electronic in nature.

This kit includes an OE wastegate actuator along with the required fastening parts to install on the turbocharger. When installing the new actuator it is required to perform a test that will measure the wastegate travel. Travel must be adjusted by turning the adjustment nuts using two open-ended wrenches. Making this adjustment with a single wrench can damage the new actuator.
