Product Information
The strut mount is used to mount the strut to the chassis and to mount the coil spring to the strut. it also includes a bushing to absorb and dampen the impact of the strut piston. Below the strut mount is the strut bearing that allows the strut to move with the steering knuckle when the wheel is turned. When the bushing in the strut mount fails it will typically cause a clunking noise over bumps and reduces damping causing a harsh ride. When the strut bearing fails it will cause binding and resistance when steering. If either the strut mount or bearing requires replacement it's common to replace both parts together since the time-consuming job of removing and disassembling the strut assembly is needed to replace both parts.
Therefore we've created this strut mount kit which includes the strut mount, strut mount bearing, and new mounting hardware for both the left and right sides to restore the handling and driving performance of your Porsche 911.
The suspension shock mount is a component that secures the shock absorber to the vehicle's chassis or body. It helps connect the shock absorber to the vehicle while allowing for the necessary movement and cushioning of the suspension system. The shock mount is typically made of metal and rubber, providing both strength and flexibility to absorb vibrations and shocks from the road.
Suspension Strut Mount Kit Failure Symptoms- Clunking or Banging Noises: A worn or damaged shock mount can cause clunking, knocking, or banging noises, especially when driving over bumps, potholes, or rough roads. These sounds occur because the shock absorber is not properly secured to the vehicle, allowing it to move or rattle.
- Increased Body Roll or Bouncing: A failing shock mount can prevent the shock absorber from doing its job correctly, leading to excessive body roll when cornering or increased bouncing when driving over bumps.
