A complete service kit for your BMW's transfer case
From the factory BMW specifies that the transfer case fill is a "lifetime fill" meaning that it does not to be service. BMW does not state any service interval but does say in further literature that depending on individual vehicle use, driving styles, and driving conditions transfer case oil service interval may vary.
FCP believes it is a good idea to perform a simple drain and fill on your transfer case every 50,000 miles. This will improve the service life of the transfer case significantly. FCP has included everything in this kit you will need to replace when performing the drain and fill service.
FCP recommend torquing the drain and fill plug to 45 ft/lbs of torque when reinstalling. If you don't have a torque wrench we recommend snugging the drain and fill plugs just past tight with a ratchet.
Please note that this service kit is for transfer cases labeled with MTF-LT-1 or MTF-LT-2
