APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS

FOR INTERIOR USE ONLY

ATAC is designed exclusively for coating unfinished automotive interiors. Do not apply ATAC to the exterior of any vehicle, motorcycle, RV, SXS or on any surface that will be submerged under water. Do not apply on plastics or other surfaces that are not manufactured from steel or aluminum. Before applying ATAC, thoroughly prepare the surface by following our instructions below. Contact DEI if you have questions on where to apply ATAC or what surface to apply ATAC to.

SURFACE PREP

  • Surface should be clean and free from oil, grease, wax, and contaminants.
  • Rust should be removed or treated. Bare metal should be primed. We recommend a red oxide primer.
  • Painted surfaces should be scuffed before applying.
  • Do not apply in temperatures below 60°F. (Do not let freeze.)
  • The surface temperature should be no lower than 60°F.

APPLICATION PROCEDURE

Can be brushed/rolled on or spray applied. Spray gun available through DEI, #50209.

  • Stir before use. Do not over-stir or shake. Keep container sealed and airtight for storage.
  • Test any section in a small area.
    • Prime over galvanized surfaces.
  • Apply uniform wet coat of 12-16 mills thick.
    • A second coat can be applied if needed.
    • Allow 12 hours between coats.
    • Allow 24 hours @ 70°f to cure before covering with any materials or applying heat from engine/exhaust systems.
    • High humidity and lower temps will increase drying time.
  • Do not force dry with heat.
  • Clean up with hot water and soap.

WARNING! - If you scrape, sand, or remove old paint, you may release lead dust. LEAD DUST IS TOXIC. EXPOSURE TO LEAD DUST CAN CAUSE SERIOUS ILLNESS SUCH AS BRAIN DAMAGE, ESPECIALLY IN CHILDREN. PREGNANT WOMEN SHOULD ALSO AVOID EXPOSURE. Wear a NIOSH - approved respirator to control lead exposure. Clean up carefully with a HEPA vacuum and a wet mop. Before you start, find out how to protect yourself and your family by contacting the National Lead Information Hotline at 1-800-424-LEAD or log on to www.epa.gov/lead.

CAUTION! - Contains Zinc Oxide and less than 10% Ethylene Glycol. May cause eye, skin, nose, and throat irritation. USE ONLY WITH ADEQUATE VENTILATION. To avoid breathing vapor, spray mist, or sanding dust, open windows and doors or use other means to ensure fresh air during sanding, application, and drying. If you experience eye watering, headaches, or dizziness, increase fresh air, or wear respiratory protection (NIOSH/MSHA TC 23C or equivalent) or leave area. Avoid contact with eyes, skin, and clothing. Do not take internally.

FIRST AID - If you experience difficulty in breathing, leave the area to obtain fresh air. If continued difficulty is experienced, get medical assistance immediately. In case of eye contact, flush immediately with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes and get medical attention; for skin, wash thoroughly with soap and water. If swallowed, get medical attention immediately. Keep container closed when not in use. Do not store above 100°F. Keep from freezing. Material Safety Data Sheet available upon request.
